Host Genie for free.
This is a static-first project. You can host the files on a static host that provides a free subdomain, subject to that provider's plan and terms.
Quick deployment
- Extract the ZIP file to a folder.
- Test it locally by opening
index.html. The page layout works offline, but dynamic QR generation loads the free open-source QR library from jsDelivr when online. - Create a static-site project on Cloudflare Pages or another static host and upload the extracted folder contents; do not upload the ZIP file as a source file unless the host's direct-upload interface expects a ZIP.
- Open the published URL, go to
/admin.htmland update profile details, URLs, link order, background and glass styling. - Export a JSON backup from Admin Studio after making changes.
Important limitations
- No paid API is required for the core static files. The QR library is free/open-source but loaded from a CDN.
- Admin settings are browser-local. Links/profile/design changes saved in localStorage show on the browser where you made them. They do not update the bundled static files for all public visitors automatically.
- Analytics are browser-local only. Visits and clicks are not aggregated across users or devices.
- There is no secure login in this static edition. The admin page is not protected. Do not treat it as a secure multi-user control panel or enter secrets.
- For all visitors to see admin-edited changes, plus secure admin login and global analytics, connect a backend/database and authentication system. Those features cannot be safely simulated with browser-only storage.
Project files
The floral wall image is bundled in assets/floral-background.jpg. The application uses plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript; no build step is required. All settings can be exported as JSON and backed up.
